The Invitation

Caught in a moment where
                                        my self
had separated from
                             my body,

    perhaps only slightly, and
  perhaps imperceptibly. You
invited me to take part whenever---

not to even call ahead.

                                    But
I was too undone to say
much more than
                         thanks.
